John Fisher Free Play of the Day

Here’s our “Free Play of the Day” via John Fisher, our top handicapper in college basketball:

Arkansas -2

Arkansas was humbled versus the Wildcats losing by 17. I was shocked that they could not cover the spread of 15. They turn from Hogs at Home to Guinea Pigs on the road. Luckily they are playing the Gamecocks tonight on the road. There is far too much talent and depth for the Razorbacks to pull another stinker. Portis and Qualls will step up in this contest and have another repeat performance like they did earlier this year in a 20 point blowout. They had a combined 22 rebounds  between the two amd forced 6 TOs with their quickness. Gamecocks offense is awful so the trend of revenge game by better defense efficiency by Home team will be irrelevant here. FYI…in that game there were like 10 open threes that Arkansas missed. A few of them were in and out of the basket. They still won easily. Won’t be as easy here but a victory will happen nonetheless. 4 stars

And a few John Fisher notes from recent games:

Take the under achieving Colonials to beat a below average Mason team. Colonials defeated the Patriots by DDs and were really never challenged. Colonials shooting has been their biggest issue this year. Guards McDonald and Savage need to be more assertive with ball penetration this won’t be difficult against a Mason defense that gives up 36% from the three point line and has a difficult time not fouling opposing guards. They have lost 12/14 games and really should be 6 point dogs . GW not as bad as they have played over the last ten games. 4 STAR PLAY

Gw -3

Gw 67-51

WINNER GEORGE WASHINGTON OUTSCORES GEORGE MASON 38-19 second half

Let’s focus on some this Dog play. The Spartans are not the type of team this year that warrants a DD blowout. Senior Day or not Purdue has the mix of players inside outside that will hang versus this vanilla defense of MSU. Purdue just lost by 4 points versus a much better Buckeye team away from home, I like the split duty between the two 7 footers Haas and Hammonds. Seven points here is just too good to pass up on a team that needs to win as much as the Spartans and could easily win this game, 10 STAR GUARANTEE

Purdue +7

Michigan State 72-66
