EXCLUSIVE TO TRADE & PRESS – FEBRUARY 9, 2015, METROPOLITAN PAVILION, NYC, 12 NOON – 4 P.M.

Feb 9, 2015, New York, NY —   The Royal Wine Corporation, one of the leading producers, importers and distributors of kosher wines and spirits will host the 9th Annual Kosher Food & Wine Experience for trade and industry professionals, February 9 at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street, NYC) from Noon – 4 p.m. (www.kfwe2015.com).

According to Jay Buchsbaum, VP of Marketing for Royal Wine Corp., “The Kosher Food & Wine Experience is unparalleled. With more than 300 wines and spirits, it’s a great opportunity to taste the largest offering of kosher wines and discover something new.   Additionally, the exclusive trade tasting is a great opportunity to actually meet with and talk to the winery owners and winemakers directly.”

New offerings this year, some making their debut at the show include:

  • Herzog Variations – showcasing the unique qualities that different regions of California’s famed wine country bring to their wines
  • Ovadia by Ovadia Bartenura – Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
  • Flam Noble – a new flagship wine from Flam
  • Pavillon de Leoville Poyferre – a new young approachable Bordeaux from a top 2nd growth chateau
  • Montefiore Kerem Moshe – Recently released flagship wine from the Montefiore winery
  • Herzog Single Vineyard Dry Creek – Herzog Wine Cellar’s annual single vineyard release which showcases a wine made from grapes sourced from a distinguished vineyard in California
  • Titora Winery, located in Modi’in, Israel, is the newest boutique winery imported and distributed by Royal Wine Corp.

The showcase of wines and spirits will be complimented by a tasting of select fine kosher fare from the metropolitan area’s top kosher caterers.

TRENDS IN KOSHER WINE & SPIRITS

“Wines from Israel are very much in demand — there is a lot of interest, many new wines and vintages, and a lot of growth and movement,” states Buchsbaum.  “The single strongest growth area in the kosher wine world is Israel, hands down. We almost can’t bring it in fast enough, and some of the wineries can’t produce enough volume to satisfy U.S. demand.”  To date Royal Wine offers more than 20 different Israeli wineries in its portfolio.

Kosher wine in America is big business (upwards of $28 million in sales, according to estimates made several years ago) and every year brings changes — new wines, new vintages, new varietals, and wines from new regions.

Complimentary admission to KFWE 2015 is open to Trade and Press 12:00 Noon – 4:00 p.m. on February 9, 2015.

A consumer event opens later that evening featuring wine tastings and food samplings from the menus of top area chefs, caterers and restaurants. The cost is $125 per person and tickets may only be purchased in advance at www.kfwe2015.com.

KFWE 2015 has recently debuted in London (Feb 4, 2015), and soon will take the stage in California (Feb 11, 2015) and Miami, Fla (Dec 20, 2015).
