NCAA teams Indiana, St. Johns, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, Memphis, and Mississippi have reportedly said they will not accept invitations to play in the NIT college basketball tournament.
There is a lot of debate about whether they should play or not. We won’t enter that debate, but we do innocently wonder they don’t play. The players on those teams play basketball nearly every day of their lives anyway. They will be playing or practicing somewhere during the remainder of March, so why not play in organized games? Why not play in settings that hone their skills against high quality opposition?
We wish these players the very best regardless of their decisions.
