In Saturday’s ESPN pregame show, former Indiana coach Tom Crean expressed concern that the Iowa State Cyclones men’s basketball team might be showing signs of fatigue. He pointed out what a long season it is for such an intense style of play and that this team started last summer with international games.
Crean added that they looked a step slow Wednesday night against BYU before a late burst of energy won that game. We thought the same thing while watching the BYU game.
Iowa State enjoys a double bye this week in the Big 12 tournament, meaning they won’t play until Thursday. That can’t hurt if fatigue is truly an issue. We’ll be watching their energy level in the first half Thursday when they play the winner of Texas vs. Kansas State.
