We are big fans of the ManningCast on Monday Night NFL Football games. One tweak we wish for: fewer guests.
Each MNF game starts with only Eli & Peyton talking about the game. It has an engaging pace to it and mixes expertise with both intelligent and sophomoric humor. Then they introduce a guest and it’s like unplugging the record player. The pace is killed and the 3 voices constantly step on each other.
We would make 3 exceptions who would be welcome anytime based on past appearances: 1) Will Ferrell because he is hilarious, 2) Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones, and 3) New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers. Jones and Rodgers are the two most intelligent and insightful individuals in the NFL at any level.
(If we had to make 2 more exceptions, they would be Candace Parker and Monica McNutt. Why? Just because they are delightful personalities who make us smile whenever they are on any show. More articulate, intelligent, fun, knowledgeable personalities like Monica & Candace on TV generally, please.)
