German Elections

A political party receiving 15% of a German vote doesn’t sound remarkable to most Americans, but context is everything. There are two aspects of the AfD party’s 15% share of the vote that attract attention.

First, the AfD party didn’t exist four years ago. Second, the leading party only received 22%.

The upstart AfD party has strong positions on immigration and showed its best results in regions of the former East Germany.

Las Vegas Top Picks takes no political positions. Although we do not expect most Americans to closely follow foreign elections, we thought this election result was worth noting.
