RACE FOR THE 2023 PLAYER OF THE YEAR

THE RACE IS ON!

THE WORLD SERIES OF POKER® PRESENTS THE
RACE FOR THE 2023 PLAYER OF THE YEAR

LAS VEGAS (May 31, 2023) – The World Series of Poker (WSOP®) is excited to announce that the race for the 2023 Player of the Year title is officially on! The highly anticipated annual competition includes 115 bracelet events – 95 live and 20 online – during the WSOP tournament in Las Vegas at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas from Tuesday, May 30 through Tuesday, July 18.

The 2023 Player of the Year race includes all open bracelet events for the 2023 WSOP, alongside Nevada and New Jersey online bracelet events, and only excluding the Casino Employees, Seniors, Tag Team, Super Seniors, and Ladies events. Winners will be chosen in accordance with the same formula as previous years, with modifiers based on the buy-in amount and number of entries. Players eliminated in the same round will receive the same number of points, based on the average of the points those places would have earned in a standard event. Players can only earn Player of the Year points once per event, based off their position in the final results.

The winner of the 2023 WSOP Player of the Year title will receive a well-deserved trophy, an esteemed ‘Player of the Year’ banner displayed at either Paris Las Vegas or Horseshoe Las Vegas, and is guaranteed a seat at the 2024 WSOP Main Event.

The 2023 WSOP Player of the Year Leaderboard will be updated every day of the tournament. For more information on the 2023 WSOP Player of the Year, visit https://www.wsop.com/2023/poy/.
